Sanja Cekov

My work has carried me across the fields of education, arts, and therapy, and across continents, cultures, and generations. I have worked as a drama and language teacher and as a cultural manager for contemporary dance, both within a university and in a dance company collaborating with dance professionals, festivals, and theatres worldwide. I have also led a project supporting refugee women and children from the Middle East.
The journey of becoming a dramatherapist, initiated by both personal and professional crisis, has led me to a more authentic voice, deeper relationships, fuller creative expression, and a more meaningful life. I therefore stand wholeheartedly behind these methods.
I see myself as a traveller between worlds, a keeper of thresholds, exploring and tending the spaces in between through art, stories, languages, nature, dreamwork, and creative therapies. My practice is informed by neuroscience, ritual, and Eastern philosophies, especially Daoism, and grounded above all in the wisdom of lived experience.
One of my most significant investments in the future is the BeeeBoooBuuu Theatre Workshop, which I founded in 2008. This initiative offers children a nurturing space to explore the performing arts and their creative potential, while cultivating a sense of responsibility toward themselves, one another, and the world around them.
